Here are the most pet-friendly hotels in 2024:

1. IHG

IHG is, by far, the most pet-friendly hotel brand and it all started back in 1981, when founder Bill Kimpton insisted on bringing his dog to work. Since then, you can easily get your pet to IHG hotels. And…that’s not all! The best part is that no additional pet fees or size restrictions exist. So, as long as your pet fits the hotel’s main door, you can bring it without any problem. There’s also no limit on the number of pets allowed, giving you the possibility to get all your menagerie.

The brand provides a lot of amenities for pets, including plush pet beds, bowls, mats, waste bags, and door hangers to alert other guests or hotel staff that there is a pet in the room.

Other IHG Properties

Even though the hotels are the top choice when it comes to traveling with your pet, there are also other options. IHG Properties include Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites. These locations accept pets but there are some size and weight restrictions plus some extra fees you need to pay to stay with your pet.

Among all IHG properties, just 24% of them aren’t pet-friendly.

2. Hilton

Hilton has a partnership with Mars Petcare going on, which helped the brand become part of the most pet-friendly hotel brands top.

Hilton accepts pets based on NerdWallet’s analysis but there are some restrictions you should pay attention to, such as species, maximum weight, and number of pets. There are also some fees you need to pay which are pretty high. This is considered one of the disadvantages of staying with your pet at this brand.

Here are some other Hilton Properties, that are also pet-friendly:

Canopy by Hilton: there are some weight and size restrictions you need to respect and a $50 tax fee you need to pay. What’s great is that at the end of your stay, you will benefit from a bag filled with toys and delicious treats.

Embassy Suites by Hilton: in these locations are accepted just dogs and cats and there are some fees you need to pay. If you stay four nights or fewer, there is a $75 fee, but if you stay longer than that there is a $125 fee.

Hilton Garden Inn: these properties are newcomers when it comes to pet allowance. They entered their first top in 2022 and each one of their properties has its own rules and restrictions you need to take care of.

3. Marriott

It’s important to know that not all the Marriott locations are pet-friendly. Even though some of them accept pets, there are a lot of restrictions that need to be respected. So, here are some of the Marriott’s brands that will be happy to have you and your pets as their guests: Aloft Hotels, Element by Westin, Moxy Hotels, Residence Inn Marriott W Hotels Worldwide, Westin Hotels and Resorts. Keep in mind that each one of these properties follows different rules.

According to NeerdWallet’s analysis, 42% of Marriott properties don’t accept pets. And those who accept will treat your pet kindly only if you pay for the privilege. The average pet fee is $122 and is, by far, the highest one from our top.

4. Hyatt

94% of all Hyatt properties accept pets and they offer amazing experiences for all of their guests. There is a Wooftop Beer Garden & Canine Club at the Andaz Mexico City Condesa, where you can bring your pet and enjoy beer and cocktails together. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? The barman even prepares special dog beers making them feel included in the party lifestyle.

In case you are traveling without your pet, you’ll find Ellie at The Hyatt Centric Park City who greets all the guests in the lobby. So, Ellie’s presence will help you have a lot of fun and help you deal with the feeling of guilt that you left your own pet at home. Similarly, the Park Hyatt Chicago is popular for their cute pug named Parker.

The fee of $105 for a pet allowance may seem high at first, in the case of Park Hyatt Chicago, but all the money is donated to the PAWS Animal Shelter which is a real standout benefit for the location.
