4. Giant American Bears

This section will be reserved for not one, but two huge animals that live in the United States. While bears are known to be big animals, two of the biggest species of this land carnivore have their home in North America, more specifically in Alaska. And while you may be thinking of the North American brown bear (the grizzly bear) or the North American black bear, the two subspecies of bear we are going to talk about as huge mammals are the Polar bear and the Kodiak bear!

Do not get us wrong, both the grizzly and the black bear that are native to North America can still be positively massive, as they can reach up to 400 pounds and even half a ton in the case of the grizzly, but when we are talking about huge mammals, both the Kodiak and the polar bears take the cake in weight and sheer size!

Keep reading to discover some fun facts about the Polar and Kodiak bears!
