Lack of exercise
When it comes to putting your dog in danger, it can also be represented by things they are not doing, rather than things that happen or that they do. Another thing that can be detrimental to their health is a lack of exercise. We all know that once the weather gets colder and colder, we are less inclined to go out, and even our dogs may no longer want to go on long walks!
However, this is no excuse for them not getting enough exercise, as weight gain can be hard to stop during the colder months, and it can be hard for them to lose weight after. Not to mention, your dog may actually start getting bored.
Make sure your dog is comfortable if you go on walks, including getting them a coat or raincoat if needed, and that if you walk them through the snow or on ice, you should look into getting them some boots to protect their paw pads from ice burns and chemicals from antifreeze on the sidewalk once winter is closer.
You could also consider some joint supplements for your elderly dogs, but speak with your vet before you give them anything of the sort!
