Deshedding at home 3: Bathe and FULLY dry your dog

If you want to have the easiest time when your dog sheds, you should invest in a good deshedding shampoo. That way, when you give your dog a bath, you are also getting rid of part of the coat they are losing, and the specially formulated shampoo will also help them shed less in the future.

You may also want to use a dog conditioner in order to make brushing the dog and detangling their coat easier if they have a longer one.

After you have bathed your dog, you should towel dry them to get rid of any excess water, then fully dry them. Whether you are using a hand-held dryer or a high-velocity one, you cannot skip this step.

If you do not fully dry them, you run the risk of matting their coat, which will bring about another whole sleuth of problems!

After you are sure your dog is fully dry, you can brush them again with the tools you identified earlier. This may take a while, but in the end, it will save you money and a lot of time from cleaning pet fur from your home!

But how can we prevent them from shedding that much? Keep on reading to find out!
